The English wanted fur,colonist used fur for hats,coats,and trimmings. In New England they mostly traded beaver pelts,in the south they sold deerskin. Fur traders mostly traded for fur,cloths,iron,tools,and beads.Colonists created licenses to create trading posts. The fur trade was important to our nations growth. Control over fur trade made a war between French and Indians and so they shut fur trade down in the 1700’s.
